Mocal and Human Synergistics are the leaders in team management for safety
One of the basic needs of any company is to create an organizational learning system for quality/safety. The problem is, traditional training methods can stifle the natural ability all workers have to analyze and solve every day problems of production. The command and control methods coupled with a bias of fixing the blame for defects rather than fixing the system prevent continual improvement. Mocal has trained literally thousands of employees on how to work as teams to solve quality/safety problems.
We use the Safety Series to provide organizations with a multifaceted tool to increase employee participation, develop group problem-solving and decision-making capabilities and create personal ownership of safety both on and off-the-job.
Using employees to solve quality/safety problems creates a new challenge. Working together, people can solve problems that impact system performance. This requires training that is easy to administer, provide a real learning experience, be fun to use and produce measurable results. The Safety Series meets all of these requirements.
The Safety Series puts pride and joy back into your production system!
A typical team exercise has managers and hourly employees working individually and then collaborating to solve a safety problem. (By design the first exercise is usually not specifically related to work.) The instruments have a scoring system that allows a comparison of the average individual score vs. the group performance. This data can be displayed graphically.
Employees tell us that working on the team exercises is the best safety training they have ever experienced. Some goals achieved with the Safety Series training are: Introduction of group participation and performance to solve safety problems: achievement of consensus that leads to synergistic decisions (In human terms 1 + 1 + 1 can really equal 5.): and effective decisions equals the quality of thinking times the acceptance of the idea. (8 X 1 vs. 7 X 5)
The simple fact is, employees know more about safety issues and problems than anyone else. When people learn how to work together to solve safety problems they can make a difference! The Safety Series will help your employees make this happen!
